Qurani.Space is designed with privacy in mind. We do not require you to create an account to use the application, and we do not collect, store, or sell your personal data. This policy explains what limited data interactions occur when you use the site.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or process:
- Your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information.
- Your IP address or precise location.
- Browsing history, search queries, or behaviour across other websites.
- Payment information (the service is free).
3. Local Storage (Your Device)
Your learning progress — which words you have marked as learned or flagged for review — is stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage. This data:
- Never leaves your device.
- Is never transmitted to our servers.
- Can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
- Is not shared with any third party.
Because progress is device-local, it is not synced between different browsers or devices. Clearing your browser data will reset your progress.
4. Cookies
Qurani.Space does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
If you access the admin area, a session cookie named qurani-auth-user-id is set to maintain your authenticated session. This cookie:
- Contains only an opaque session identifier — no personal information.
- Expires after 24 hours.
- Is used solely to protect the admin configuration area.
5. Admin Accounts
The admin area is accessible only to authorised administrators. Admin credentials (username and a hashed password) are stored in the application's database, which resides on our server. This data is used solely to authenticate admin access and is never shared with third parties.
6. Hosting and Infrastructure
Qurani.Space is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect standard server access logs (including IP addresses) as part of their infrastructure operations. These logs are governed by Vercel's Privacy Policy and are not accessible to or used by Qurani.Space for any purpose.
7. Analytics
We do not currently use any analytics or tracking service (e.g. Google Analytics). If this changes in the future, this policy will be updated and users will be informed.
8. Children's Privacy
Qurani.Space does not knowingly collect any data from children under the age of 13. The service is an educational tool suitable for all ages; however, because no personal data is collected from any user, there are no special child-data concerns beyond standard parental guidance for internet use.
9. Your Rights
Because we do not collect personal data, there is typically no data for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. Your learning progress is stored solely on your own device and is under your full control.
If you believe we hold any personal data about you (for example, if you have an admin account), you may contact us at any time to request access, correction, or deletion.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
